Our world is experiencing rapid growth in technology and artificial intelligence.
So, I have set a goal for myself to understand web development by 2024. However, I am wondering if I can secure web development jobs for freshers in this field.
We are living in the world where every technology is evolving at very pace. So, is there any chance for us to get web development jobs for freshers?
To clarify this, I conducted some research on Google. And you might be surprised by what I found: the answer is yes.
There are very good chances for freshers to secure a web development job in the future and this is a trend that is likely to continue.
Let’s explore why I am telling you this.
Introduction
Did you know that India produces over 7,13,648 web development jobs every year?
That’s fantastic news!
It’s great to see the tech industry thriving and creating more opportunities for people.
And the best part is that this number is likely to increase year by year. This is something to celebrate and be joyful about!
In FY22, three of the top Indian IT companies, namely TCS, Wipro, and Infosys, were expected to offer around 1.05 lakh job opportunities. This was due to the increasing demand for talent and skill in the country’s IT sector, which is projected to grow exponentially in the coming years.
According to market research, India’s IT and business services market is estimated to reach a whopping US$ 19.93 billion by 2025. This is a clear indication of the significant growth potential that this sector offers in terms of employment and revenue generation.
Furthermore, IT spending in India is projected to increase substantially in the coming years. It is expected to rise to US$ 110.3 billion in 2023 from an estimated US$ 81.89 billion in 2021.
This growth in IT spending is primarily driven by the increasing adoption of digital technologies across various sectors in the country.
Well, the IT sector offers career opportunities in many different areas, from hardware equipment to software services.
Some other IT jobs are:
• Data Scientists
• Data Analysts
• Software Development
• Software testing
• E-commerce
• Web development
• Mobile App development
• Content marketing
And so on….
What do you mean by Web development?
Website development is all about creating and maintaining a website. It involves a lot of fun things like coding, scripting, network configuration, and CMS development.
Every little bit counts towards making a website look and feel amazing!
Web development is a highly artistic and multifaceted profession that goes beyond mere coding and markup. It involves a wide range of tasks such as client-side scripting, server-side scripting, server and network security configuration, e-commerce development, and content management systems (CMS) development.
As a result, web developers need to have a broad skill set that encompasses both technical and creative expertise.
The scope of Web development in 2024-25
As mentioned earlier, the IT sector in India and several other countries is growing at an unprecedented rate.
In the fiscal year 2022, the IT industry contributed to 7.4% of India’s GDP, and experts predict that this figure will rise to 10% by 2025.
With the rise of cutting-edge digital applications across various sectors, India is now ready for the next phase of its IT revolution.
Being home to one of the largest Internet user bases and offering some of the most affordable Internet rates globally, India is viewed positively by the rest of the world. Currently, 76 crore citizens in India have access to the Internet.
India’s ranking has improved by six positions to reach the 40th place in the 2022 edition of the Global Innovation Index (GII).

India is now surely prepared for the next phase of its growth in the IT sector revolution, as more and more innovative digital applications emerging across various sectors.
With one of the largest internet user bases and some of the cheapest internet rates globally, India is making a positive impression on the rest of the world.
As of now, 76 crore Indian citizens have access to the internet, which is awesome!
Here are some statistics that provide an overview of the current state of the internet in 2024:-
• There are over 5.038 billion internet users in the world.
• The total number of websites is about 1.8 billion.
• There are 4.48 billion active social media users.
• Every day, there are 3.5 billion Google searches, which amounts to 1.2 trillion searches each year.
• Google.com has 86.9 billion monthly visits and is the most popular website in the world.
Web developers v/s Artificial intelligence
Web development is undoubtedly a great profession that helps one understand the IT market and build connections in the industry.
However, the sudden rise of artificial intelligence, like ChatGPT, over the past two years seems to make it very difficult to maintain a position in the IT sector.
What if AI took our jobs?
What if AI starts creating web apps on its own?
What if AI starts performing better than humans?
Is it only me or does everyone think like that?
Well, don’t worry about it.
When I first started thinking about the impact of IT technology on our jobs, I have to admit, I was a little worried.
But then I did some research and discovered that upon closer examination, there’s no need to panic.
We’re just taking another step forward in the evolution of technology, and while it’s natural to be concerned about job security, the potential impact is likely to be fairly minor.
It is somewhere true that AI might take our jobs but, only at minor degrees.
Did you know that according to Forbes, many Americans worry about losing their jobs to AI? However, these concerns have no factual backing.
The World Economic Forum predicts that 75 million jobs will vanish by 2022, but the good news is that 133 million new positions will replace them. AI is not a significant competitor but more of a junior assistant, given its current rate of development. So, there’s nothing to worry about!
All my conclusion says that AI only handles jobs that require a low skill set, simpler tasks, rewriting the content, summarising the context, etc.
There are still some tasks that need a high skill set, and AI can’t handle them properly. Everything related to people’s skills, judgment, and ability to combine information to create something new is beyond the current capacities of AI.
Automation will most likely speed up some fragments of the jobs that are already considered tedious and time-consuming.
In simple words, AI can handle only simple tasks.
Such tasks that need high experience, more skill, and a problem-solving technique like — coding, development, testing, machine learning, and more — are more likely to be operated by humans by 2030.
